The island of Lastovo

THE ISLAND OD LASTOVO is located 7.5 nautical miles south of the island of Korčula and accessible by excursion boats from Lumbarda and Korčula. The island contains unspoiled nature, and dense forest and fragmented coast, and has been included amongst the ten heavenly gardens of the Mediterranean in the prestigious list of the World Wildlife Foundation. The island hosts two larger settlements – Ubli on the foreshores and Lastovo on the inner parts of the island. Lastovo is interesting due to its location and a series of old gothic, renaissance and baroque houses with particularly picturesque chimneys. Lastovo has an abundance of interesting traditional customs and dances as well as beautiful and rich traditional dress.
